show Abstracthide AbstractThis is a de novo assembly of the domestic goat (Capra hircus) exclusively using long reads. The assembly was scaffolded using a combination of optical map data, and Hi-C contact alignment graphs. Subsequent scaffolding was confirmed using a Radiation Hybrid map for the goat. This study was a proof of principle that a combination of cutting edge sequencing technologies can be used to efficiently create accurate chromosome-scale scaffolds.
